The All-on-4™ procedure is an alternative option for implant dentistry and is ideal for patients with a limited amount of bone in their jaws. With a 98.5 percent success rate, this procedure is a great solution for immediate use implants and is accompanied with an excellent follow up plan of reevaluations every four years for a decade.
In most cases, patients choose All-on-4™ because they are frustrated with traditional dentures, are missing teeth altogether, or have teeth that have been traumatically damaged.

An Overview of the All-on-4™ Procedure
Before the All-on-4™ procedure is performed, patients must receive a detailed consultation from Dr. Randy J. Greenberg and his dental team in Wallingford. During the consultation and examination, their gums, teeth, and bone density are all checked. Read more about dental consultations by clicking here.
The actual procedure can be completed in two visits:
Upon arrival, patients are given a local anesthetic for comfort throughout the procedure. If there are existing teeth, they are carefully extracted. Next, four channels are shaped into the gums where the implants will be placed. The entire denture will be held in place with those four implants, hence the name of the procedure.
Once this has occurred, the titanium implants are surgically placed in the alveolar bone, which is the bone that contains tooth sockets. Temporary abutments are placed over the implants and then a temporary denture is cemented on and bite tested, acting as protection for the healing implants. The temporary will be in place for up to six months so that the bone has proper time to heal around the implants. During this healing time, a soft food diet is highly recommended.
During the second appointment, the temporary is exchanged for the permanent appliance and bite tested again for accuracy and comfort.
